  • Who can benefit from sports therapy?
    Sports therapy is beneficial for athletes of all levels, from amateurs to professionals, as well as active individuals who engage in regular physical activity. It's also helpful for those recovering from injuries or looking to improve their overall fitness and prevent future injuries.
  • Do I need a referral to see a sports therapist?
    No, you do not need a referral to see a sports therapist. You can book an appointment directly.
  • What should I expect during my first visit?
    During your first visit, the sports therapist will conduct a thorough assessment, including your medical history, current symptoms, and physical examination. They will then create a personalised treatment plan tailored to your needs and goals.
  • How do I book an appointment?
    You can book an appointment by calling our office, allowing for an opportunity to have a brief conversation we are able to confirm I am able to help and that I offer the type of treatment you are looking for.
  • What should I wear to my appointment?
    Wear comfortable, loose-fitting clothing that allows easy access to the area being treated. Athletic wear such as shorts and t-shirts is ideal. At all times you will be covered by additional towelling.
  • How long is each session?
    The length of each session varies depending on the type of treatment and individual needs, but typically sessions last between 45 minutes to an hour. It is also possible to book a 90 minute extended session.
  • What is your cancellation policy?
    We require at least 24 hours' notice for cancellations. If you cancel within 24 hours of your appointment, a cancellation fee may apply.
  • What forms of payment do you accept?
    We accept various forms of payment, including cash, credit/debit cards Apple Pay and Google Pay
  • What types of treatments do sports therapists offer?
    Sports therapists offer a variety of treatments, including but not limited to: Manual therapy (massage, joint mobilisations) Exercise prescription and rehabilitation programs Injury prevention strategies

    Sports therapists help prevent injuries by providing tailored exercise programs, improving movement patterns, enhancing strength and flexibility, and offering advice on proper techniques and equipment usage.
  • Can sports therapy help with chronic conditions?
    Yes, sports therapy can help manage and alleviate symptoms of chronic conditions such as arthritis, tendinitis, and chronic back pain through manual therapy, and other therapeutic modalities.
  • Can sports therapy help with performance enhancement?
    Absolutely! Sports therapists can design programs to enhance athletic performance by improving strength, flexibility, endurance, and overall physical conditioning, as well as offering mental coaching and nutritional advice.
  • What is the difference between a sports therapist and a physiotherapist?
    While there is some overlap, sports therapists specialise specifically in sports and exercise-related injuries and performance enhancement. Physiotherapists have a broader focus, treating a wide range of conditions beyond sports injuries, including neurological, respiratory, and musculoskeletal conditions.
